Actor, interviewer and comedian Alec Baldwi, 54, turned Internet commentator yesterday, taking to the Twitterverse to kibbutz about his stalker.
"Isn't it odd when an accused stalker is in handcuffs, being taken away by the cops, yet smiles for the cameras?" he mused to his 814,000-plus followers.
Twitter followers expressed concern for him and his fiancee, yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas, 28, with one saying that Thomas should yank her yoga-teaching schedule from the public domain for safety reasons.
"Life stops when u let crazy people dictate ur activities," Thomas typed back on Baldwin's feed - and then gave a link to her yoga class schedule at the ManhattanYoga Vida studio.
Baldwin was given a temporary order of protection Monday night after Genevieve Sabourin, a 40-year-old Canadian who Baldwin allegedly met on the set of the 2002 movie "The Adventures of Pluto Nash," was arraigned on five counts of stalking and harassment and released on her own recognizance.
Baldwin told the Manhattan District Attorney he met Sabourin for dinner in 2010 as a favor to a friend, and that Sabourin began relentlessly emailing and texting him. He informed Sabourin he did not want any more contact and changed his phone number but she continued to harangue him electronically. Days after he became engaged to Thomas, she surprised him at Lincoln Center, where he was working, and at his home. The email barrage also continued, with one reading, "I NEED TO START MY NEW LIFE, WITH MY NEW NAME, WITH MY NEW CARRIER IN MY NEW COUNTRY HELP MY NEWLY HUSAND, YOU!" Another demanded "SAY I DO TO ME."
Sabourin's emotional emails, stalking and harassment caused the macho actor "anxiety, annoyance and fear" according to the criminal complaint.
