Almost half of city's adults think public schools are getting worse: Poll

Nearly half of New York's adults think the quality of the city's public schools has declined during the last 20 years, according to a poll released Monday by NY1 and Marist College.
Here's the breakdown of the survey:
49%: Percentage of New Yorkers who think schools have gotten worse
23%: Percentage who say they have improved
16%: Percentage who say it has stayed the same
12%: Percentage who are unsure
The city's Department of Education and the mayor's office didn't return phone calls for comment.
