Amber Alert issued in N.J. murder case

Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a New Jersey man wanted for questioning in the murder of his ex-wife and abduction of their two children.

Anthony Trapp’s ex-wife, Heather, was found dead in his Old Bridge Township home.

State Police say the couple’s children, 20-month-old Sophia and 5-year-old Emma, are with him. Police described Emma as white with brown hair and brown eyes. She is about 3 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 40 pounds. Emma has 3 small scars on her forehead and a birthmark on one of her calves.

Police said Sophia is also white with brown hair and blue eyes, about 2 feet long and weighs about 20 pounds. She has Marfan's syndrome, a heart condition.

Trapp is white with black hair, about 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has relatives in Staten Island.

State Police say Trapp is believed to be driving a red 2012 Nissan Rogue with New Jersey license plates C-5-9-B-P-B.

The alert was issued for Suffolk and Nassau counties, as well as Albany, Bronx, Clinton, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Herkimer, Kings, Montgomery, New York, Orange, Putnam, Queens, Rensselaer, Richmond, Rockland, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, St. Lawrence, Sullivan, Ulster, Warren, Washington and Westchester.
