Us New Yorkers are infamously into ourselves, but Americans said the state isn’t all that great—and worse, we’re rude.

Conducted using SurveyMonkey’s Audience feature, a new poll from Business Insider asked 1,603 Americans to answer questions with states that weren’t their own. The results are meant to show how residents of other states view the rest of the country and reveal that New York isn’t that impressive.

New York was voted the rudest state, with 44% of the votes. New York was also named the most arrogant state, the runner up for most overrated and the state with the worst sports fans. Still, respondents said New York has some positive aspects. The state has the best sports fans, the best food and the smartest people after those in Massachusetts.

But there was not much of a contest when it came to favorite state. California nabbed the top spot for favorite, as well as the craziest state and the one with the hottest residents. Southern states took a beating in the poll. Mississippi landed the No. 1 spot for dumbest state, while Texas was voted the state most Americans would like to see kicked out of the country.
