Anne Hathaway nabs a purr-fect role: Catwoman

Anne Hathaway continues her good-luck streak (um, hello, Oscars co-host!) with another big-time role: that of Catwoman.

Hathaway, 28, will play Catwoman and her alter-ego, Selina Kyle, in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, “The Dark Knight Rises,” Warner Bros. announced yesterday. Rachel Weisz, Blake Lively and Natalie Portman reportedly were among the actresses vying for the part.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story,” Nolan said, according to Deadline.

Christian Bale will reprise his role as Batman, and Tom Hardy will play the villain Bane.
