A mother desperate to save her baby dropped him out of a second-floor window as the Queens home she was staying in was engulfed in flames early Thursday, authorities said.

After the fire started around 3 a.m. at 145th Street and Rockaway Boulevard, a neighbor and a passerby who had seen the young mom screaming from the window successfully caught her 14-month-old and another child, fire officials said.

Six adults were also rescued via ladder and were treated for minor injuries at Jamaica Hospital along with three firefighters. The cause of the blaze is unknown, although officials are labeling it "suspicious" and believe an accelerant was used.
