Alec Baldwin showed he was able to calm down and joke around last night about an altercation with two photographers the day before.

After walking on stage during a taping last night of the "Late Show with David Letterman" to the Pat Benatar hit "Hit Me with Your Best Shot," the hot-tempered star said, "Let's get to it, shall we?"

When Letterman held up a copy of the Daily News with a photo of Baldwin allegedly swinging at photographer Marcus Santos, Baldwin quipped, "I think you can see I'm forming the letter 'F' with my mouth, and what I'm saying is . . . what F stop are you on with the camera?"

On the "Late Show," Baldwin also dropped his pants to show off weight he'd lost. Letterman followed suit.

The "30 Rock" star wasn't as friendly earlier in the day, as he allegedly struck reporters who were camped outside his apartment. Various media reports said Baldwin struck a reporter as he pedaled away on a bicycle, but the actor said it was the other way around.

"I am told I ran over someone's foot on my bike today. I think it was that person who placed their foot under the wheel of my bike," he posted on Twitter.

Baldwin and his fiancee Hilaria Thomas were leaving the city's marriage bureau Tuesday when photographers began taking pictures. Santos, who filed a police complaint, said Baldwin punched him. The actor said he acted in self-defense.
