About a dozen CUNY students were arrested Monday in a clash with police at a protest against a proposed tuition hike.
The protest began when members of the group Students United for a Free CUNY gathered at the school's cafeteria to demand that a tuition increase approved last summer be rolled back, The New York Times said.
At least several hundred protesters marched into a public hearing by the university's trustees and, after being denied entry, marched through the barricades, where they clashed with police.
