Kevin Smith hints at 'Clerks 3' on Broadway
While promoting his new book "Tough Sh*t" at a Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles, filmmaker Kevin Smith told a crowd of fans that he wants to do "Clerks 3" as a Broadway play. "This was even before I saw 'The Book of Mormon.' I'm not gonna do a musical. I'm not that talented," he said. Smith later tweeted that he wants to mount it at the end of 2014, to mark the 20th anniversary of "Clerks," but only if actor Jeff Anderson, who played Randal Graves in "Clerks" and "Clerks II," agrees to be in it. Hopefully Smith would get back into the trenchcoat to play Silent Bob as well.

Spiegeltent to move to midtown
The Spiegeltent, which has previously presented circus and cabaret events at the South Street Seaport, is moving uptown. A sexy homage to early 20th century European theaters, the 440-seat, mirror-filled, in-the-round nightclub will set up camp at 45th Street and Eighth Avenue from May 22 to Sept. 2. "New Yorkers are the most demanding audiences in the world, so we have had no choice but to deliver a show that represents the very height of art," assured producer Ross Mollison in a statement.

'Carrie' to close earlier than expected
The long-awaited Off-Broadway revival of "Carrie," which received disappointing reviews last month, is packing up early. MCC Theater announced that the show, which had been extended to April 22, will instead close on April 8. But what's really disconcerting is that no cast recording has been announced. If not recorded, "Carrie" could easily fall into obscurity for another 25 years.

Mike Daisey finally says he's sorry
More than a week after it was publicly revealed on "This American Life" that much of his one-man monologue "The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs" was based on fabricated facts, performer Mike Daisey came out and finally apologized on his website. "When I said onstage that I had personally experienced things I in fact did not, I failed to honor the contract I'd established with my audiences over many years and many shows. In doing so, I not only violated their trust, I also made worse art," Daisey said.
