Bratton -- without de Blasio -- meeting Wednesday with five NYPD union officials

For the second time in a week police union officials will be sitting down Wednesday with NYPD Commissioner William Bratton -- this time without the presence of Mayor Bill de Blasio -- to talk about the current tensions among the rank-and-file with City Hall, said one labor official.

The afternoon meeting will closet Bratton with the heads of the five unions. Some of the unions, notably the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association -- have been highly critical of de Blasio in recent weeks, with thousands of officers turning their backs on the mayor during the funerals for slain officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos.

The officers turned their backs on de Blasio even after Bratton asked them not to show disrespect to the mayor at Liu's services.

A spokesman for the PBA was not available for comment and an NYPD spokesman didn't return a call for comment. On Monday, Bratton indicated he might take action if he found that policewere engaged in any work "slowdown."
