Bill Clinton joins Twitter, with help from Stephen Colbert
Former President Bill Clinton has finally joined Twitter, as he started tweeting Wednesday night under the handle @billclinton.
The ex-prez learned the ropes earlier this month during an appearance on "The Colbert Report." Stephen Colbert helped Clinton set up a fake account under a ridiculous user name, explaining that “@presidentclinton was taken, @williamjeffersonclinton was taken, but @prezbillyjeff was available."
But now Clinton has taken up Twitter in earnest, event tweeting a shout-out to Colbert and to his daughter, Chelsea Clinton, on Wednesday.
Excited to join @chelseaclinton and my good friend @stephenathome on Twitter!

“I taught @billclinton to tweet! This is almost as exciting as the time I taught Cheney “Dance Dance Revolution,” Colbert tweeted in response.
