Bill de Blasio hires officials to head New York City agencies

Mayor Bill de Blasio Tuesday announced the appointment of four more officials to lead city agencies, including the departments of finance, design and construction, contract services and the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Jacques Jiha, 56, who has worked in the comptroller's offices of the city, state and Nassau County, will oversee the Department of Finance, which handles $30 billion in revenue from sources such as parking tickets and property taxes.

Feniosky Peña-Mora, 48, an engineer and Columbia University professor, will be in charge of the Department of Design and Construction, which manages public works.

Lisette Camilo, 37, will lead the Mayor's Office of Contract Services, which deals with procurement, where she was most recently the office's acting general counsel.

De Blasio also reappointed David Ehrenberg, also 37, to be president and chief executive of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corp. Ehrenberg has worked at the city's Economic Development Corporation.

De Blasio has presided over one of the slowest transitions in recent memory. His administration defends the pace as favoring quality over speed. Among the remaining vacancies as de Blasio approaches the 100-day benchmark of his term Thursday are fire, buildings, emergency management commissioners, agencies being led by holdovers from the Bloomberg administration.
