NYPD: De Blasio guard shot by pellet or BB gun; suffers 'very minor' injury
A member of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio's security detail was shot with a pellet or BB gun Sunday night outside Gracie Mansion, NYPD officials said.
The female bodyguard was on duty outside the mayor's home at 170 East End and suffered a "very minor" injury when she was shot by a pellet in the small of the back shortly after 7:15 p.m., police said.
The mayor was not present.
Police detained two people -- an 18-year-old man and a girl, 17, who were wanted for questioning.
Detectives did not know what prompted the shooting.
