The mayor celebrated the 10th anniversary of the 311 call system Monday, touting the service's efficiency and success at its Financial District office.

Since 311 launched in 2003, the service, which consolidates 40 city agency help lines, received more than 158 million calls.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said 311 has a higher customer satisfaction rating than other private call centers and congratulated the staff for their work

"The real reason for 311's success is the people who work here," he said.
