So what exactly does Mayor Michael Bloomberg plan to do when his third term expires at the end of next year?

Perhaps launch "Late Night with Mike Bloomberg," Hizzoner joked Thursday.

While appearing on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," the mayor said he wouldn't mind venturing into the talk-show circuit, prompting Fallon to plead, "Please, you can't take away jobs!"

But it was all in jest, as Bloomberg made his second appearance on the show since its debut on NBC in 2009. Funnyman Fallon spent much of the interview fawning over the mayor, who was quick with retorts.

After Fallon said he liked the mayor for being a "self-made" billionaire, Bloomberg reminded the "Saturday Night Live"-alum he earns just $1 a year for heading up City Hall.

"Well, somebody once said you get what you pay for," Bloomberg said to laughs.

Fallon also held up a photo of Bloomberg smooching pop star Lady Gaga on New Year's Eve in Times Square.

"I didn't think my girlfriend was happy about that," the mayor added.

When it came time to talk politics, Bloomberg declined to give advice to the presidential candidates and made it clear he prefers leading a city and not an entire country.

"The president's in this bubble all the time. He can't walk the streets," the mayor added. "I walk the streets of New York City without worrying about it."
