When it comes to the city, the mayor says we're better off than we were four years ago.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg responded Tuesday to that question posed by GOP Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney but added that the question was "uneven."

"We had a recession, we recovered faster than the rest of the country, but not everyone is sharing in it and that is the big problem," he said during a news conference.

The mayor touted the numerous city initiatives, such creating new infrastructure, as the factors behind the city's recovery and added more needed to be done to get people new jobs.
