Bloomberg would like to see five borough justices in Supreme Court

Mayor Michael Bloomberg would love to see a Gotham packed Supreme Court.

Speaking jokingly with reporters Monday, the mayor noted that four of the nine justices have New York roots.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor grew up in the Bronx, Justice Antonin Scalia grew up in Queens, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn and Justice Elena Kagen was born and raised in the Upper West Side.

Bloomberg said the city's fifth borough deserved some representation on the bench.

"We would then have five out of nine from New York and I think that's a great position for the city to be in," the mayor joked.
