Board of elections changes 60 voting sites due to storm damage

The Board of Elections has moved 60 city polling sites in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Many of the original polling centers, especially in Queens, won't have power by Tuesdayto operate the digital polling machines.

"We've got to make sure everyone can vote. It's not going to be easy," Bloomberg said, according to DNAinfo.com.

Bloomberg, who doesn't oversee the city's Board of Elections, said about 143,000 voters will need to use alternate polling places Tuesday.

Voters can log on to vote.nyc.ny.us for the most up-to-date information about polling sites and can plug in their home address to see where they have to go to vote.

Brooklyn has 24 site changes, while Queens has 28.

Manhattan has the following three site changes:

PS 188 at 442 E. Houston Street will be the new polling site for anyone who was supposed to vote at Bard High School at 525 E. Houston Street.

The poll site at Westbeth Housing at 155 Bank Street will be moved to PS 3 at 490 Hudson Street.

John Jay College at 445 W. 59th Street will be the new site for voters who had to vote at the Unity Center at 213 W. 58th Street.
