Body believed to be missing Bronx woman found dead

YORKTOWN, NY. (AP) — The body of a woman found in a wooded area in the New York City suburb of Yorktown is believed to be that of a woman reported missing by her husband after an argument at their Bronx home.
Yorktown police say a 40-year-old Bronx woman was discovered at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday by a local resident near the Taconic State Parkway. Police are handling the matter as a homicide and have not released the victim’s name.
The cause of death is pending autopsy results. The New York City Police Department is also investigating.
Tina Adovasio was last seen at her Throg’s Neck home Friday night. Her husband is a former NYPD officer who left the force in 2000. Officials say he has a history of domestic abuse.
