Boy falls 23 stories to death in Co-op City

A 4-year-old boy fell 23 stories to his death on Friday evening in Co-op City in the Bronx, police said.

Police said that Malachi Johnson fell from the balcony of an apartment at 140 De Kruif Place.

He was pronounced dead on arrival by emergency medical responders.

The boy's mother, Denise Warner, was in the apartment at the time, according to published accounts.

Police said no criminality was suspected.
