'Bridesmaids' takes on the SAG awards

The runaway comedy hit "Bridemaids" is up for some pretty big honors at this January's Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The flick's ensemble cast is competing against the casts of silent film "The Artist," George Clooney-led "The Descendants," book adaptation "The Help" and Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris." Nominations were announced Wednesday morning.
Melissa McCarthy, left, was also nominated in the supporting actress category for her role in "Bridesmaids," going up against Berenice Bejo ("The Artist"), Jessica Chastain ("The Help"), Janet McTeer ("Albert Nobbs") and Octavia Spencer ("The Help").
Clooney was also nominated for in the leading actor category for "The Descendants," as were Brad Pitt ("Moneyball"), Leonardo DiCaprio ("J. Edgar"), Jean Dujardin ("The Artist") and Demian Bichir ("A Better Life").
The SAG Awards honor acting in film and televison.
