Britney Spears' family has put the star on communication lockdown.

The "X Factor" judge's parents and husband monitor all of her cell phone and Internet use, even blocking certain numbers and websites, to protect her from ex-manager Sam Lufti and from "negative stories that would upset her," according to RadarOnline.com.

"Britney's cell phone and Internet use is restricted and heavily monitored, and this is done for her protection," a source told Radar.

"Britney and (husband) Jason (Trawick) essentially share a cell phone, and it's routinely checked to see who has been calling," the source said. It added: "Her family doesn't want Britney reading negative stories that would upset her."

Spears, 30, had a restraining order against Lufti that expired this year, and her handlers reportedly want to make sure he stays out of Spears' life, Radar reported.

Lufti is suing the Spears family for defamation and breach of contract. He says that his role in Spears' very public 2007 meltdown was inaccurately portrayed in the Lynne Spears' book.
