With Britney Spears' new "X Factor" gig came a slew of doubts about whether the pop star will be able to handle the pressure of a high-profile live show, but according to a report from RadarOnline.com, Brit's more than ready to take her seat at the judges' table.
Howard Stern - who joined the clownish modern-day "Gong Show" "America's Got Talent" this season - is among those who have publicly stated opinions that Britney will be a giant flop on the reality show.
"Britney is well aware of what the critics are saying about her. She is anxious to prove to everyone that she isn't just a ditsy blonde, and she's hunkered down with [fiance Jason Trawick], who will be with her at all times during the auditions and filming," a source told RadarOnline.com. "She's aware of the comments [Stern] made about her, saying the only reason people would be tuning in to watch her is because she is a train wreck. Britney doesn't take that seriously and knows he's just promoting himself."
The source added that the taunts are motivating Brit "to prove all the naysayers wrong."
Spears, 31, reportedly netted $15 million to judge alongside L.A. Reid; fellow newbie and former Disney star Demi Lovato; and Simon Cowell (left to right, above).
