Brooklyn leads city in gentrification: Study

Several Brooklyn neighborhoods led the city with the greatest surge in white residents in the last decade, according to a new study.
The Thomas B. Fordham Institute listed the 25 fastest gentrifying American neighborhoods Monday with Clinton Hill and Williamsburg ranking 5th and 6th respectively.
The two neighborhoods were nearly 20% white in 2000 but it grew to nearly 50% in 2010, the study, which used U.S. Census data, showed.
Two other Brooklyn locations made the list including Prospect Heights, which was ranked 18 with a 21.5% surge in white residents, and parts of Bushwick, which was came in last with a 19.7 percent white population increase.
No other New York City neighborhood made the list.
