Brooklyn man whose toddler was killed is robbery suspect

Anthony Hennis, whose 16-month-old son Antiq was killed by gunfire last month in Brooklyn, is a suspect in an Oct. 3 subway robbery.

The NYPD Sunday said Hennis, 22, and his brother Ammany, 20, are suspected of mugging a 19-year-old man on a southbound No. 3 train as it pulled into the Saratoga Avenue station in Brownsville, Brooklyn, about 1:30 p.m.

The brothers threatened the teen, who gave up his watch and was punched in the face, according to police.

The robbery occurred more than a month after the Sept. 1 shooting of Hennis' toddler son during a walk on Livonia Avenue.

Police said Hennis was the intended target, but the gunman fatally shot Antiq in the head.

The alleged shooter, Daquan Breland, 23, pleaded not guilty at an arraignment Thursday on charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Brooklyn district attorney's office.

His alleged accomplice, Daquan Wright, 19, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of a weapon.

A spokesman for the district attorney's office did not have information on Breland's and Wright's attorneys available.
