A broken rail on Fulton Street in Manhattan knocked the C train out of commission and rerouted the A train after 5 p.m., right in time for the Monday evening commute, the MTA said.

For about two hours, most of the C line was out of service in both directions between 168th Street and Euclid Avenue, while the southbound A train was running on the F line between West 4th Street and Jay Street in Brooklyn.

Service was restored to the A and C lines with residual delays shortly after 7 p.m.
