An NYPD captain who is a commander in the Department's leadership bureau was arraigned Tuesday on an array of domestic violence charges in Brooklyn Criminal Court before being released on his own recognizance.

Daniel Sosnowik, 49, of the Flatlands, Brooklyn, was arrested after his wife complained that Sosnowik pushed her into a doorway, wedged her in between the doorway and the wall, and repeatedly opened and closed the door on her arm on Monday night, according to court documents.

Two orders of protection were issued requiring Sosnowik to have no contact with his wife or their 12-year-old son, who allegedly witnessed the incident. Sosnowik, who was also required by the court to surrender his service revolver. He was placed on "modified suspension," according to the NYPD.

His lawyer did not respond to a voice mail message left asking for comment.

He is scheduled to return to court July 16.
