Car strikes mom, twins on Brooklyn sidewalk
A mother and her twin 9-month-old babies are in a hospital after being struck by a pickup truck that mounted a sidewalk during a chain reaction accident in Brooklyn.
Authorities say the accident occurred Sunday afternoon when a livery cab with three passengers struck the rear of a mini van that was double parked. They say the impact caused the van to strike the parked pickup truck.
The Daily News reports that the mother was visiting from Baltimore.
It says one of the baby boys is in critical condition. His twin and the mother are in stable condition.
The livery cab passengers and its driver also were taken to the hospital. They’re in stable condition.
Police charged the cab driver with aggravated unlicensed operation, reckless driving and imprudent speed.
