Carmelo Anthony jerseys lead the league in popularity

Lucky number seven is number one.

Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony jerseys have replaced those of the Miami Heat's Lebron James as the top-selling jerseys in the league, according to the NBA Store.

Anthony ranked fourth on last November's "most popular jerseys" list. The Knicks -- one of the top teams in the NBA this season -- continue to be the most popular team merchandise sold.

James' jerseys dropped into second place, with Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant taking third place, Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant taking fourth and Chicago Bull Derrick Rose placing fifth in sales. Deron Williams of the Brooklyn Nets scored sixth place and Knick forward center Amar'e Stoudemire's jerseys were the 14th most popular.

The list was compiled based on sales from the NBAStore.com and the NBA Store on Fifth Ave. from Nov. 2012 to the present. Sales figures and profit information were not announced.

The most popular team merchandise sold was, in order, The New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs, and for the first time on the list ever, the Philadelphia 76ers.

"The Knicks have maintained their position as the best-selling team since they first topped the Bulls at the start of the 2012-13 season," said the statement issued by the NBA Store.
