CBS 2 anchor arrested on domestic abuse rap
CBS/2 anchor Rob Morrison will be in a Connecticut court Tuesday to face domestic abuse charges.
The 44-year-old newsman was arrested early Sunday morning after his mother-in-law called police claiming he was choking his wife, reporter Ashley Morrison, in their home, according to a news release from the Darien, Conn. police department..
Morrison, who anchors the network's local morning show, was charged with strangulation, threatening and disorderly conduct and released on $100,000 bail, the police said.
Ashley Morrison is a reporter for "CBS Money Watch," an online business news multimedia website.
During its 5 p.m. news broadcast Monday, CBS/2 read a statement by the Morrison family saying they are cooperating with the investigation and the "allegations have been greatly exaggerated."
The couple has a son, whose age could not be confirmed by press time.
