With and without Charlie Sheen, CBS and Comedy Central were winning on Monday night.

Nearly 29 million people tuned in to watch the Sheen-less “Two and a Half Men,” smashing its record for viewers. And Comedy Central’s “Roast of Charlie Sheen” was the network’s most-watched roast ever, according to Nielsen ratings.

The ninth season premier of “Men” killed off Sheen’s character and introduced Ashton Kutcher, 33, as a suicidal billionaire who buys Sheen’s California house and replaces him on the sitcom.

Sheen, 46, was fired last year for his out-of-control behavior and for publicly slamming the show’s creative team.

During the Comedy Central roast, Sheen was mocked for his ouster, his rampant drug use, obsession with hookers and porn stars and disastrous comedy tour.

Some of the evening’s zingers included:

"If you're winning, this must not be a child custody hearing. The only time your kids get to see you is in reruns. Charlie, don't you want to live to see their first 12 steps?" — Jeffrey Ross

"The only reason you got on TV in the first place is because God hates Michael J. Fox." — Anthony Jeselnik
