‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’ scored live
Think about watching a movie without music. Hard to imagine, isn’t it? This Friday, see just how much music affects your moviegoing experience as Celebrate Brooklyn! presents Oscar-nominated film “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” scored live. The movie’s director, Benh Zeitlin, has teamed up with musical collaborators Dan Romer (who, with Zeitlin, did the music for the film), The Wordless Music Orchestra and Slavic Soul Party to bring the film’s original score to life — literally. (Thursday, 8 p.m., FREE, suggested $3 donation, Celebrate Brooklyn! at Prospect Park Bandshell, Prospect Park West & Ninth St., bricartsmedia.org/cb)

Breaking records

National Underwear Day 2013
Here’s your chance to be a small part of history. But be ready to dress down — way down. Help break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people in their underwear, Monday in Times Square. Strip down to your skivvies — probably best to wait until you actually get there — and bury the current record of 2,270 under a big pile of clothes. Spread the word by using #NUD2013. And you might want to do some crunches on your lunch break. Just saying. (Monday, 5-7:30 p.m., FREE, Pedestrian Plaza, Times Square, Broadway btwn 46th & 47th sts., nationalunderwearday.com)

Movie

‘Speed’
Pop quiz, hotshot. There’s a bomb on the bus. Know the movie? Here’s a hint: Keanu Reeves as a “hotshot” cop, Sandra Bullock driving a bus. Ring any bells? “Speed” will be playing on the big screen at SummerScreen in McCarren Park this Wednesday, so speed your way over to Williamsburg. Maybe on a bus? Maybe not. (Wednesday, music at 6 p.m., film at sunset, FREE, McCarren Park, Bedford Ave. & N. 12th St., Williamsburg, summerscreen.org)
