Dumbo Dance Fest
This weekend, we want you to dance! But first, how about you watch some pros do it? This year’s annual Dumbo Dance Festival will be a three-day explosion of dance, featuring 113 companies with more than 400 performing artists from the U.S., Canada and Japan, all come together in the hip Brooklyn nabe. Watch at your leisure or ramp up your viewing and catch performances from up to eight different companies every hour. There will be main-stage performances at the White Wave John Ryan Theater, outdoor shows at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 1, and even acts tailored to the kiddies. With the exception of the opening-night benefit, all performances are FREE and first-come, first-served. Check the schedule online to get the most out of your festival experience. Zumba Dance Party
It’s a craze that’s sweeping across the country, and now is your chance to get moving to the beats of the largest Zumba Party at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark. The Zumba Party itself occurs on Sunday at 1-2:30 p.m., but there are FREE games and giveaways before and after, so arrive early.
