We caught up with Smith, whose fall 2012 line goes down the runway Wednesday.

Fashion Week motto? "Keep calm and carry on."

What's the first thing you'll do once NYFW is over? Before I had children, I'd pop a bottle of champagne and celebrate with my team. Now, I go home to my kids and pop the champagne after they've fallen asleep.

Describe your fall collection in one word? Modern.

Fashion Week diet? Sushi, fresh salads and foods that give me energy. But during those late nights, Kit-Kats and Sour Patch Kids seem to find their way into my office.
