Cher breaking years-long tour hiatus in 2014
Cher is touring for the first time in about 10 years, including two stops in the New York area in mid-May 2014.
Cher, 67, will hit the road for a four-month North American tour to promote her latest album, “Closer to the Truth,” which is set for release Tuesday.
“OK CREW !!! FASTEN YOUR SEAT-BELTS... ,ITS GOING TO BE A BUMPY RIDE ! HIGH HIGHS ....LOW LOWSME 2 A T,” Cher tweeted Monday, following a performance on “Today.”
The “Dressed to Kill” Tour in 2014 has large shoes to fill if it’s going to be as successful as the veteran pop star’s last extensive outing on the road.
In 2002, what started out as a farewell tour with 59 dates spun into a record-breaking 325 dates over three years and was later dubbed “The Never Can Say Goodbye Tour.”
Cher will hit the New York area on May 9 at the Barclays Center and on May 10 at the Meadowlands’ Izod Center.
