Chris Brown may face 4 years in prison after hit-and-run: Report
Chris Brown shot down rumors Monday that he caused a minor fender-bender last week that has turned into a hit-and-run investigation.
Brown, 24, allegedly ran into a Mercedes while driving his Range Rover on May 21 in California, according to TMZ.com. As he and the Mercedes driver assessed the damage, Brown allegedly gave fake insurance info to the woman he rear-ended and he flat-out refused to give her his license number, TMZ.com reported.
He then took off, leaving the scene of an accident "without fully disclosing information," which could result in a hit-and-run charge, the website reported.
But sources Monday said Brown did give the woman the correct info, and that she is avoiding his attempts to reach her, TMZ reported.
Because Brown is on probation for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, the fender-bender could reportedly result in as many as four years behind bars for Brown. The LAPD is seeking Brown to talk with him about the accident as soon as possible, TMZ said.
Brown's rep didn't respond to a request for comment.
