Christine Quinn endorsed Bill de Blasio for New York City mayor Tuesday, saying they "share the same progressive values," encouraging her supporters to back his bid and vowing that their days of ugly Democratic primary attacks against each other are behind them.

The City Council speaker, who finished a distant third place in the primary election a week ago, spoke on the steps of City Hall alongside dozens of Democratic leaders and members of several labor unions who once backed her but now support de Blasio. Among them were the Service Employees International Union's Local 32BJ, the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union and the Hotel Trades Council. MORE
