City Council Speaker Christine Quinn will be spending the end of Labor Day weekend by celebrating Caribbean pride.
Quinn was named Wednesday the grand marshal of the West Indian Day Parade.
Organizers said the councilwoman has always supported promoting the city's diversity.
"The Honorable Christine Quinn has been at the forefront within all communities of the city of New York as an inclusive leader, respecting all cultures," William R. Howard, Fspokesman for the West Indian American Day Carnival Association, said in a statement.
The parade will be held on Sept. 3 in Brooklyn.
