Citi Bike has hit a milestone, clocking more than 100,000 rides since its Memorial Day launch, Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan said Wednesday.
In addition to the surge in the number of riders zipping around the city, Sadik-Khan said 15,000 people signed up for the program in the last 10 days, bringing the total of annual subscribers to more than 30,000. More than 6,000 daily and weekly memberships were sold since Sunday, when the bike share program opened for the public.
"Citi Bike is New York's summer blockbuster, and in just 10 days these signature blue bikes are already everywhere on city streets," Sadik-Khan said.
