City gets first $190M in FEMA aid

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will release $190 million in disaster aid to help New York City recover from superstorm Sandy, New York's U.S. senators announced Tuesday.
The Obama administration will send $114 million to help repair New York University's Langone Medical Center on the East Side, and another $75 million to the New York Police Department to cover staffing costs due to the storm, Sens. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) said.
"These funds are just a down payment, and we will keep fighting until New York's deep and broad needs are matched," Schumer said.
