City has an app for weight watchers
The city announced yesterday that the Health Department is offering an app that calculates how many calories you are eating.
The free CalCutter app, available on Android and iPhone, lets users plug in ingredients and the number of servings to see if they're eating too much. It also offers alternatives to high-calorie ingredients. "Many people want to count calories as a way to avoid gaining weight, but they have no way of knowing how many calories are in restaurant food or even food they prepare themselves," Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley said.
