Calling all software developers: The city Tuesday launched its third annual NYC BigApps contest.

Budding tech visionaries can use city data to create web or mobile apps that can be downloaded by residents and visitors.

New app categories this year include health, education and the environment, and 13 winners will receive cash prizes totaling $50,000.

Submissions are due by 5 p.m. on Jan. 25, and the winners will be announced in March. For more information, visit: www.NYCBigApps.com.
