Columbia University was ranked No. 4 in U.S. News and World Report's annual 2014 college rankings released yesterday.

New York City's sole Ivy League institution received a score of 95, falling behind Yale, Harvard and Princeton, which took the top spot.

Other New York City colleges that made the top 100 include New York University, which ranked 32; Yeshiva University in Washington Heights, which was No. 47; and Fordham University, ranked at 57.

The U.S. News and World Report's college ranking system is based on 16 measures in seven categories covering graduation and retention rates; class size; and undergraduate academic reputation.
