Like coach Rex Ryan’s? Jets team itself, the ?franchise’s exclusive Green Room lounge is a hot commodity that’s still a work in progress.

New carpets, chandeliers and rearranged furniture are expected to augment the luxurious ambience that the invitiation-only space behind Section 135 at the New Meadowlands Stadium had on opening night this week.

“We think we have something special in Rex, obviously, as a team, but we also think we’ve created something special with the new stadium and with the Green Room,” said Thad Sheely, the Jets’ executive vice president for finance and stadium development, and one of the few team officials and sponsors who can dole out Green Room passes (the Giants have a separate Legends Club in the stadium). “We’re optimistic that excitement continues.”

The Jets proved during their 10-9 loss to Baltimore on Monday that only improvement will help back up Ryan’s outspoken championship goals. Meanwhile, Green Room guests nibbled on sushi from Nobu and hobnobbed with movie stars (Drew Barrymore), power brokers (former Gov. George Pataki) and Jets greats (Don Maynard). They left with gifts of Tiffany glassware.

With an “it” space worthy of the NFL’s “it” team, the Jets must work to keep “it” going.
