We here at amNewYork think Ellis Island is one the city’s most awe-inspiring places. So an upcoming event immediately caught our eye. Ellis Island’s amazing Great Hall will be the site of a street-fair style feast on Thursday, November 4, in honor of Molly O’Neill’s new cookbook, “One Big Table: A Portrait of American Cooking."

The event, courtesy of the National Parks of New York Harbor Conservancy, will include a panel discussion moderated by The New York Times’ Sam Roberts featuring O’Neill, Calvin Trillin of The New Yorker; the Food Network’s Aarti Sequeira, and others.

The event includes transportation by Statue Cruises and the first copies of O’Neill’s book. $130 per person. Statue Cruises ferry departs Battery Park, Gangway 5 at 6 p.m. and returns to Manhattan at 9 p.m. Call 212-668-2321 for tickets and more information
