The testimony of an NYPD officer supports a sex-abuse claim against his colleague.
Kevin Maloney, who's from Massapequa, testified Monday at the Brooklyn trial of Richard Kern and two other policemen.
Michael Mineo says he was abused while handcuffed on Oct. 15, 2008.
Maloney said he saw Kern press an 8-inch police baton between Mineo’s buttocks. He said a half-inch to an inch of the baton disappeared from view.
Later, he saw blood on Mineo’s hand. Maloney did not call an ambulance or tell a supervisor.
Kern is charged with aggravated sexual abuse and assault. Officers Alex Cruz and Andrew Morales are charged with hindering prosecution and official misconduct. All deny wrongdoing.
If convicted, Kern could face up to 25 years in prison; the others could face up to four years.
Maloney is not facing charges in the case.
