While investigators continue to probe the death of a former Columbia University student, new revelations may shed some light on her health condition.

The city's medical examiner is still trying to determine what killed Jessica Fingers, 21, who was visiting friends over the weekend and found dead Sunday morning.

Investigators wouldn't comment on reports that the track star, who was on leave from the Ivy League school, died of a drug overdose, but Fingers may have been suffering other health issues, according to a report

DNAinfo.com reported that she was a plaintiff in a class-action lawsuit against the makers of the birth control device NuvaRing which lawyers contended gave her blood clots.

A source confirmed that Fingers did suffer clots but wouldn't go into more details.

Officers say no charges have been made in the case.

The university declined to comment about Fingers' death but the administrators sent emails to undergrads about the incident and counselors were on hand in dorms.
