Cops search for man who tried to rape a 14-year-old girl

A 14-year-old girl fought off a would-be rapist Friday morning in Washington Heights and the police are now seeking her attacker, a Hispanic man estimated to be about 20 years old and 5-feet-five-inches with a thin build. In police video, he is wearing a white, short-sleeved collared shirt and blue jeans.
The man trailed the girl into her apartment building, which was identified in published reports as at the intersection of Sherman Ave. and W. 207th St., and attempted to rape her, but she managed to managed to fend him off and escape uninjured.
