Cops seek inked thief of watches, jewelry and iPhone
Police are searching for a heavily tattooed burglar who broke into a Sheepshead Bay home near Avenue Z and East 27th Street through a back window on the evening of Aug. 31 and made off with an iPhone, jewelry and watches worth an estimated $135,000.
Cops released a video captured by the home owner's surveillance camera that depicts the burglar holding a penlight between his teeth while he combs through the home owner's personal belongings with gloved hands. A tattoo of praying hands is on the burglar's muscular right forearm and a bulldog is on his right shoulder, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or text 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577. The public can also submit tips at nypdcrimestoppers.com.
