Cops subdue Astoria man threatening to kill wife, kids

Cops had to use pepper spray, a Taser and finally a bullet to the torso to subdue a 42-year-old Astoria man who was charging a them with box cutters Wednesday morning, police said.
The unnamed man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was listed in critical, but stable condition. Police were called to scene because he allegedly threatened to kill his wife and two young sons, who were released from the hospital with minor injuries.
Police had not charged him as of press time.
